Achievements and prospects of creation and application of oilseed cruciferous plants (rapeseed Brassica napus L. var oleifera DC., Indian mustard Brassica juncea (L.) Czern, Abyssinianmustard Brassica carinata A. Braun) for obtaining of unsaturated fatty acids with a long (C18-C24) carbon chain for dietary (stearidonic, arachidonic, eicosapentaenoic, docosahexaenoic, nervonic), pharmaceutical (γ-linolenic, taxoleic, pinolenic) and technical (erucic, gondoinoic, dokozadienoic) purposes are discussed.
